Vintage Art Deco Machine Age Atlas Bankers Desk Lamp Nr

Vintage Art Deco Machine Age Atlas Bankers Desk Lamp Nr

Terrific, vintage atlas banker's table lamp. With fabulous art deco/machine age design influences.

A great example of mdoern industrial design. I'd estimate age at circa-1940. Marked on the base manufactured by atlas applaince corp.
I've seen many atlas banker's lamps, but never one possessing this cool design. Appears to be all original and works well. The decorative accents on the the top, midsection, and base. Are all dark brown bakelite. Teh shade and rear support column are pressed steel. The original brown paint nicely intact, as well as excellent original silver paint on the interior of shade. The top of the shade shows minor panit wear. The steel shade bracket retains its original silver paint, but does have some oxidation from age.

The socket is marked leader and apepars to be well as the pull chain. I've shown an example of the type of bulb this lamp utilizes. They're easily found ta any hardware or home improvement store.

The cord and plug appera to be original, as well. The factory gilbert plug ahs a great, triangular deco shape. The rubber cord shows quite a bit of age distressing (nothing extreme).

But, if you plan on using this, you'll want to have the lamp rewired for safety purposes. Very good overall condition with no bakelite cracks, pressed-steel dents, or repairs. The only chip is very small and difficult to notice.
And is located on the rear-left corner fo the base, as shown, and only encompasses the small mold flange. In fact, you probably didnt notice it in the first photo. Please let me nkow if you require additional information and/or photographs. Grading my pieces, as you collectors/investors/quality-used-item users. When, and if, i use the mint grade, i mean it.
