Original Art Deco Frankart Nude Lamp L271

Original Art Deco Frankart Nude Lamp L271

Presented by frankart, inc in its 1932-1933 frankart handbook supplement is lamp l-271 â âa charming nude gazes into a five inch glassâglobeâ. This is another of arthur von frankenbergâs creations that depicts a fabulous art deco futuristic motif base upon which rests a kneeling nude gazing at a frosted green crackle glass globe. The lamp was rewired with a cloth-covered wire and a plug tyipcal of the period. There is no damage to the either the lamp or globe. It appears that this particular finish was a brassy tone however through the years there has been some dirt, wear and loads of patina accumulated. In one of the pictures, you will see a line in the left ankle area this is not a crack but a cast seam. Besides the typical wear for a lamp of this vintage and the natural darkening of the finish from patina, the only wear are scuff marks and small scrapes on the right shoulder and the right hip area near the globe.

I assume this is because fo the globe being lifted through the years to replace the bulb. The lamp is signed â frankart inc. The dimensions of teh base are 8-1/4 inches by 5-3/4 inches, and the height of the lamp is nearly 9 inches.

The green crackle globe is 5 inches across. This is not a typical frankart lamp and hopefully it will find a home amongst other fine frankart collectibles. If elsewhere, additional charges will apply. The globe will go double-boxed. Both boxes are new, and the lamp will be packed using new bubblepack and new styrofoam peanuts.
